Chloe's Christening

Last Sunday we had our sweet baby's christening. The weekend was incredibly sweet and special. On Saturday evening, my bestie Mindy and her little girl, Hadlee came in from Waco for the service. We spent the evening playing with the girls, eating pizza, and chatting. We had planned to visit the Pierces the weekend before for Baylor Homecoming, but couldn't because her little boy Walker was sick, so it was great to finally see them!

The next morning, we all met at Christ the King for the baptismal service. Mindy and Haddie, Read and Cathy, my parents, David and Donna Rains, and Kristin and Wilson were all in attendance. Chloe was wearing a Strausburg dress given to her by Hollie when she was born. As Marc carried her into the church, she spit up all over it and it became wet and see through. I was slightly upset until I realized she was about to get a lot more wet (being baptized and all!). We had met with one of the pastors, Robert Cook, the week before..so it was special that he was the one to do the christening. After the service, we took Chloe to the nursery for the first time and she feel asleep on the bosom of one of the nursery workers!

After the service, we all came home for a small tea party with smoked salmon, deviled eggs, pasta salad and cake. It was a fun time to spend with so many people we love. I wished so much that Hollie was there (instead of in England!) and that Marc's parents and family could have been there as well. Chloe opened all of her little gifts after the party and loves her necklace, bracelet, lamb, baby bible, and silver bunny.

We are so blessed to have our little Chloe. Our sweet angel.
