Some Days are Like That... Even in Australia

One of my favorite books to read to my classes when I was teaching was called Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day. Alexander often had "no good" days because this or that happened. After each one of those days he would threaten to move to Australia. At the end of the book, he discovers that everyone has "those kind of days" even in Australia!
I had one of Alexander's days yesterday after my mom left. It was such a fantastic visit. Chloe was at just the right age to play, tease, laugh and love with her Gramma. We did so much around town and still had a chance to relax and unwind, talk, catch up and really bond again. It is so hard to say goodbye.
The night before she left, we told Chloe that Gramma had to go home the next day. She had to go see Grandad, Uncle Andrew and her cat...Pookie!
The next morning after Chloe woke up, she began to ask for Gramma. When I reminded her that Gramma was on an airplane back to Texas, Chloe responded "oh yea...Pookie." Too cute.
The good thing is that we know we will be back to Texas for a visit sometime before Christmas. I am so thankful that my mom was able to come and visit and am already looking forward to the next time!

It is hard. Probably even harder when you have a cutie that asks for her too!

mo my darling, everyone always said that you forget the pain of childbirth. but when i left you and my baby chloe and marc that last night, the pain almost seemed equivilent. letting chloe slide out of my arms into her crib that last night was just too sad. but i can recall the wonderful times of playing hide and go seek with her, giving her a bath and having a wonderful swim at the pool. and being on the receiveing end of her hugs and kisses was heavenly. at the same time, the time that we had with just the two of us was truly a blessing. i am so proud of you and you incredible intuitive abilities as a mother.Chloe just admores you and is definitely a Mommys girl. the time with all of you was priceless and everytime i start feeling down that your not here,i just reach into my bag of memories and dwell on them for a while and count my blessings. much love, mom
