Melbourne Cup Races

Back in November...(Oh my goodness...so much to catch up on...here goes...) Perth, along with the rest of Australia, celebrated the Melbourne Cup horse races. It is known as 'The Race that Stops a Nation.'

My Yummy Mummy friends did stop our regular routine and gussied up with make up, frocks and the ever popular Melbourne Cup hair fascinator.  The bigger the better at Race Day parties.

We went to a nearby restaurant for bubbly, lunch, a fashion show and of course to watch the race...it lasts about three minutes.

It's always a good time with these lovely ladies.

And a bit bittersweet as we had to say goodbye to Emma, as she headed back to England a few weeks later.

We all gathered round to watch the race!

Guess who's horse won! Mine!!!!
Guess who won a crummy $45 because I had no cash that day and borrowed a fiver from Lindsay to just get a cheap ticket. Jill's horse came in second and she won over $100 because she bet more.
Oh well! It was a very fun day!
