We haven't really done toooo many road trip since Ben's birth...because...well it's just too hard! But we packed up and headed out of town just an hour and a half away to the Moore River. The Kirshner family invited us to spend the weekend with them in chalets in a caravan park!
We are so glad we did because it was fun, fun, fun!
Emma and Chloe are pretty tight these days. They are in the same class at school and pretty stuck at the hip.
My cheeky little girl! Sometimes she acts like she is 5 going on 15! But sometimes she just wants to be my baby and have big cuddles!

Chloe and Ben have on matching owl hats made for us by The Ever So Talented Kim! A fairly new friend...she was knitting them in the car on the way to Margaret River. I was looking at her in awe because she was talking, knitting and not even using a pattern to make the creations. I think she gave them to me out of pity for my lack of talent! But I do love them soooo!
It rained a lot the first 24 hours we were there. Chloe and Emma did art and put on shows for us!
Ben just continued to be a rascal.

This kid loves to be read to. It is crazy. We calculate that we read about 40 books a day to him. Watch some TV, dude! :)
Here is the view from the cabins, or chalets! It's quite a typical Aussie set up. One big common area for cooking and hanging out, surrounded by tent sites, caravans, and the ever so posh chalets that we were staying in!
Each night we took turns cooking. The Kirshners had German sausages and sauerkraut the first night and Marc made spaghetti bolonase the second night. Ben enjoyed it...to say the least!

We bought Ben and Chloe little head lamps beforehand and everyone loved running around the field with their spotlights! It was just good old fashion fun with playing on playgrounds, in the sand, in the puddles, and exploring nature. I didn't get many pictures but it was beautiful wear the Moore River almost meets the Indian Ocean. The ocean waves even splash into the river to make it brackish.
Ben was so happy to be up late, with the big kids and Dad!
Sunday was Mother's Day and we headed home but took a mini detour and had a great time at the Science Centre near Gin Gin. We learned about gravity, rocks, space, and lots more!
The best part was climbing the 440 stairs up to the Leaning Tower of Gin Gin with a basket of water balloons! We dropped them through the funnels and watched them SPLAT! The kids (and adults) loved it!
It was a perfect weekend with good friends. We will definitely head back there soon!
