Chloe and her buddy Luke (and Mommy and Leanne) braved the crowds, heat, and overpriced ticket entry and headed to the Perth Royal Show! The Royal Show is kind of like a smaller Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo but without the scrummy rodeo food.
Leanne and I had strategy...take the train. Get there right as the gates opened. Pack snacks and lunches. Take the double stroller. Leave by 11:00 for home. Write our phone numbers on our child's legs in case we lost them....It went very well. Last year we didn't go as Chloe was way too young but this year we were all able to have a nice time.
No one was on the Jumpy Castles when we arrived so that was perfect for our little guys. Luke did they more scary, daring castle that had a trap door that propelled him into the next "room." Chloe stayed at the safer, flatter farm themed one.
They loved the Old MacDonald Farm where they pet and held baby animals. Luke loving on a baby goat.
The woman is trying to entice Chloe with a bunny but she can't take her eyes off the lambs...go figure!
SHEER TEACUP TERROR! I thought it would be a nice leisurely teacup ride, but the dude working it kept spinning us every time we passed by. Even Mommy almost tossed cookies. I finally had to shout to him to "STOP SPINNING US!" and the ride was a bit more enjoyable, but Chloe might still be scarred for life. This picture breaks my heart and makes me laugh at the same time! Sweet girl did NOT like the spinning.
Meanwhile, Luke was a motion junkie and couldn't get enough of the toddler rides. I was impressed!!! Leanne and I joke that Chloe is the toughie at daycare and takes care of Luke as he boo hoo's for his mom but Luke showed no fear on those rides. Wow!
Look at this guy! After the flying car ride that he went on alone, he proceeded to the Ferris wheel that launched him up in the air quite fast! Leanne and I stood there panicking as Luke had the time of his life.
Chloe... not so much. She found her way to a fishing game where she could keep her feet on the ground and where"everyone is a winner!" She caught four fish and picked out a bubble gun.
It was a fun morning complete with Princess showbags, chocolate strawberries, and a James Bond-like train ride home. (OK, not really but I did have to run really fast and barely got a ticket in time before the doors shut on us).

the royal perth day show looked like a blast. you are really building so many wonderful memories. that look of terror on my baby chloes face was heartbreaking. somehow riding a camel and not being afraid, but freaking out in the tea cup dosn't connect! love mom
perth does look like a nice place..
sounds like you guys had so much fun - . . . althugh i have to ask . . . scrummy rodeo food???
