Walpole, Tree Elle..Part 2

At the Bartholomew's Meadory...honey tasting!

Walking on the beach at Elephant Rock.

Valley of the Giant's Tree Top Walk in Albany.

The second part of our adventure Down South was to an area called Walpole near the town of Albany. It was both coastal and wooded and had gigantic tickle trees and a park called Valley of the Giants where you could take tree top walks. It reminded me of the rainforest of Costa Rica or the redwoods in California. Chloe loved the tall trees...you could even walk through some of them. We checked out a meadory where they make honey, honey wines, and honey ice cream. Chloe luuuuved the honey products...so much that she wouldn't nap that day because of all the sugar swirling around in her blood!
Our house was fantastic. It was called Tree Elle Cottages and was on a large area of land with farm animals and a beautiful vegetable garden. Each night we would buy snapper or marron from the local fishermen and pick veggies to make wonderful salads, beans, beetroot, etc. YUM! It was relaxing and quiet. A real getaway. A famous local chef called Ernie Dingo was staying there filming a documentary (or docco as Aussies say). We didn't see him, just his film crew.
