It is hard to find a patch of grass in the concrete jungle of Singapore, but we managed to do just that. Sian and I went on a little hike to Bukit Timah, one of the only two rain forests in an urban city in all the world. Armed with only a packet of potato chips and a bottle of water, we managed to reach the summit. Ok, it was only 163.63 meters but after a night on the town it was a major accomplishment.
It was well worth breaking a sweat (while on vacation!) when we spotted a group of adorable monkeys in the trees.
We had to reward ourselves for our physical accomplishments with an afternoon of decadence. 
Sian says that I use the word 'fancy' all the time so I thought it was an appropriate title for this part of the post. We spent the better part of the afternoon loitering around the historic Raffles hotel. It is known far and wide for their High Tea and their famous Singapore Slings at the Long Bar. We indulged in both.
We stuffed ourselves silly with scones, sandwiches, cream puffs and the traditional Singaporean buffet. It felt as though we had stepped back in time. 
You simply MUST follow your High Tea at Raffles with a Singapore Sling at the bar and we did just that. They are delicious but at $30 a pop (gulp) we opted just for one each. It was such a yummy day and a real highlight of the trip!
