Finding Nemo

About a week ago, we showed Chloe the dvd of Finding Nemo and since then, she has been mad for fish! She love love loved this movie (even though we had to skip over the scary shark bits). This girl just jumps into her obsessions head first and Nemo was no exception. The day after watching the video, I found these great clown fish, coral fish, crab, octopus and shark puppets from our wonderful toy library. Chloe spent so much of last week running around with Nemo and the gang and calling out "SHARK" "CHOMP" when we least expected. No one is safe of the shark's chomping...not even her baby dolls...

On Saturday, Marc had the idea of taking Chloe to the aquarium. She has been a handful of times before but we knew she would REALLY like it post Nemo. We walked around an area called Hillarys until the aquarium opened and she just had to hop on the sea horse merry-go-round.

Chloe began her search for Nemo on the dock. We saw lots of schools of little fish that Chloe was very excited about. Good ol Dad was patient and helped her look everywhere for Nemo.

We finally arrived at the aquarium and as we suspected, Chloe was all about it. She especially loved the underwater tunnel with sharks, sting rays, turtles, and more. The floor moves slowly through the tunnels and we must have gone around five times. Still no Nemo though.

After the ray pool, lunch, and 'the danger zone' we FINALLY find Nemo! Chloe was so excited and it was well worth the wait. Time for a nap...

After a loooong nap for the entire family, we continued with our fishy weekend and went to a chilly, cloudy, and seaweedy beach. The beach usually looks much different than this but a storm was out a sea and everything was turned up. Marc and Chloe took a 30 minute walk down the coast to collected as many shells for her sand pit as they could.

To finish off the day, Chloe enjoyed a bath with her new friends...Nemo, Marlin, Dory and SHARK from the aquarium gift shop.

Giuliana loves Nemo also - she gets so confused between who is Nemo and what is just fish!
